Managing Migraines
We hear you’re having headaches. We wish we could take it away, but since we don’t have that super power, we’re hoping that the following treatments—from at-home DIY options to prescription-based ones—will help to alleviate your symptoms.
💆Relax
Find a quiet place. Put your phone down (when you’re done reading this). Take deep breaths. Release the tension from everywhere in your body—your jaw, your shoulders, your hips, your hands.
❄️Grab some ice or an ice pack and wrap it in a cloth, or just run the cloth under cold water. Put the cold cloth against the part of your head where you’re feeling the pain.
👩🏾⚕️Ask your doctor about Triptans, NSAIDs with Triptans, and other medicine options.
Depending on the severity of your migraines, your doctor may prescribe more preventative measures. Make sure to track the frequency and severity of your migraines and speak to your doctor if you experience several debilitating headaches a month.
