Meet Baylee: Hormonal Hottie with Endometriosis & PCOS
👋 Tell us about yourself! What is your name, age, location, & occupation?
My name is Baylee and I live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin! I have been fully self employed the last 3 years through my Online Hormone/Health Coaching Biz! I am a Women's Nutrionist, CPT, and Hormone Coach who specializes in acne, periods, and fat loss. In my free time I love to go camping, travel, workout, cook, garden, and read fantasy books!
How did you discover that you had PCOS & Endometriosis? What symptoms, situations & resources led you to this diagnosis?Â
I was officially diagnosed with PCOS and Endometriosis/Adenomyosis in 2021 but have had symptoms ever since I got my first period at age 15. Unfortunately, it took me 6 years to get diagnosed.
My PCOS symptoms included CRAZY hormonal acne on my chin where men would typically get a beard. I also had a super irregular period; I'd either not get my period for a year, or bleed for months at a time.
My endo/adeno symptoms included SUPER painful periods, a LOT of spotting, painful sex, terrible bloating, endo belly, digestive issues, and migraines.
My PCOS was diagnosed by my symptoms and an ultrasound, and my Endo was officially diagnosed when the tissue was removed by Excision surgery. I also had an endometrioma (a tumor) on my left ovary which was a Godsend, because it was then that my doctor took me seriously.
What are 3 things you want other people with PCOS/Endo or similar symptoms to know?
For PCOS I want people to know that their diagnosis isn't a death sentence, they CAN reverse or manage their PCOS symptoms, and that you can do this naturally without birth control!
For Endo I want people to know that their doctors can't rule out Endo unless they have gotten exploratory surgery, that Excision is the best western medicine treatment out there, and that you can manage your symptoms naturally!
At Aavia, we know that lifestyle modifications can help manage and reduce symptoms. What has been the most effective for you in managing PCOS & Endo?
For PCOS, it has hands down been blood sugar management and stress management!
For Endo, it has been stress management, healing sexual trauma, and eating an anti inflammatory diet/removing food triggers! For both, it has also been BELIEVING it is possible to heal and that it could be easy for me.
What are your luteal phase must-haves/do’s to feel better?
Decaf coffee/matcha, slower movement, talking things out to my boyfriend, and more sleep/rest.
